Amish novels are not always that interesting and often tend to either be patronizing or condescending. As a close friend to an Amish woman, Cindy Woodsmall writes from a personal knowledge and  understanding of the Amish culture and well as tells a great story.

CHRISTMAS IN APPLE RIDGE is a three-in-one collection: The Sound of Sleigh Bells, The Christmas Singing and NEW The Dawn of Christmas.  All three separate interlocking stories are set in the Amish community of Apple Ridge and tie together romance, family and the Amish beliefs.

Each narrative is about a particular couple and their challenges, not only romantically, but also with their own personal walk with God. The Sound of Sleighs traces the story Beth and Jonah, The Christmas Singing is about Mattie and Gideon, and The Dawn of Christmas is the account of Sadie and Levi. In each tale one or both of the individuals is dealing with concerns such as rejection, forgiveness, misunderstandings and lies of others. The issues they deal with are not exclusive to the Amish, they are some any and all of could face.

I received Christmas in Apple Ridge free from Waterbrook Press free for an honest fair review. I loved the book and would recommend it to anyone.
