Being a veteran of the police force for twenty-two years, Janice Cantore lends authenticity and realism to her writing of AVENGED.  It was however,  part of a series, but it can stand alone if you've not read the other two.

Carly Edwards, a police officer, and her husband, Sergeant Nick Anderson get caught up in a suspected gang execution that she suspects is not what it seems. Tensions increase between two local gangs. They confiscate some weapons from a member of one of the gangs.  After further investigation they find out that the guns, along with some explosives, were stolen from a military base.

Carly has her character shredded just as she is to testify in a major trial. She has to depend on God and remember ;"Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord."

This is a great crime and mystery book and I will be reading more of her books. She knows what she's talking about and is able to bring the characters to life.

I received this book free from Tyndale for a honest review. I do recommend this book and author to anyone who enjoys a good clean crime novel.
