The Pursuit Of Tamsen Littlejohn by Lori Benton is a great historical novel. Lori is conscientious about the historical details and makes her characters come alive.

Tamsen is the child of a widow married to, Hezekiah Parrish, a less than caring man who has plans to marry Tamsen off to someone who will benefit him. Tamsen is equally determined not to be used as a pawn.

Jesse Bird is a young man raised by Indians but was taken under the wings of a half-breed who made sure he learned English ways as well.

Tamsen runs away from her step-father with Jesse's help. Pursued by Parrish, claiming she was kidnapped, and accompanied by Ambrose Kincaid, the man hoping to marry her, Tamsen and Jesse head for Indian country.

This is a story that will intrigue, suspense, and of course romance. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this saga and recommend it.

I received this book free from WaterBrook Publishing for an honest review.
