From This Day Forward, a Lauraine Snelling's book, is the fourth of the Songs of Blessings series. Somehow I missed books two and three but since the characters  are carried through from the original series I didn't feel that I was lost.

Deborah McCalllister, was an orphan who was brought to Blessing as a child and adopted by Zeb who married a Bjorklund, the family that started the town. She is the charge nurse of the hospital and has loved Toby Valders, another orphan adopted by a local family.

Toby works for a Borklund in construction and is oblivious of Deborah except as a good friend and someone to tease. Due to the neglect and abuse from his birth father he has a fear of commitment and thinks he cannot be a good husband or dad.

Enter a new school teacher who charming and attracted to Deborah. Then Deborah goes to Chicago for more training for a month.

I love Lauraine's books and appreciate how the character's are fleshed out and carried through the series.

I received a free copy from Bethany House a division of Baker Publishing. No review, positive or otherwise, was required - all opinions are my own.
