I just read the third novel of the series Neighbors of Lancaster County by Leslie Gould. In Amish Weddings Leslie continues the story of the Amish Lehman's and Englisher Beck's. The book doesn't just cover the story of one sister but incorporates the whole family but does leave it awaiting a fourth book.
Lila Lehman is the oldest daughter, Zane Beck has returned from the army and joined the Amish. Lila and Zane are to be married next wedding season. Rose is the middle sister and in love with Reuben Byler, the Bishops son. Reuben thinks they should postpone their wedding due to Lila & Zane's.
Enter Trevor, an Army buddy of Zane's who is charming and pursues Rose. Feeling left out and disappointed about having to wait will she be enticed by Trevor? Will Reuben understand the distance that develops between them.
The story becomes even more complicated and involved when Lila decides to look for her birth father and Daniel her twin wants nothing to do with it. Will she find him? What are the consequences?
Leslie writes a complex, compelling story that holds you and makes the book hard to put down. Now I can't wait for the next book I'm sure is to come.
I received a free copy from Bethany House A Division of Baker Publishing Group. No review, positive or otherwise, was required – all opinions are my own.
