I never pass up a chance to read a Beverly Lewis book and THE EBB TIDE definitely was a good one. I grew up on the coast so it did make me nostalgic and homesick a bit.

Sallie Riehl is a young Amish girl who loves to read, and as her mother said, was born with a wanderlust in her heart as she yearns to travel. Before she joins the church she has the opportunity to spend the summer at the beach as a nanny.

A local man, Perry Zook, begins to court her and told her he'd wait for her to return.

She meets a college student, Kevin Kreider, a Mennonite and they begin to spend time together. She's finds herself attracted to him but brushes aside her growing feelings.

At the end of the summer she returns home torn as to her feelings and desire to join the church. What will be her decision? How will Kevin and Perry fit into her life?

I received a free copy from Bethany, a division of Baker  Publishing Group. No review, positive or otherwise, was required – all opinions are my own.
